S. Korea takes its first medal in women's wrestling

DOHA, Dec. 11 (Yonhap) -- Kim Hyung-joo claimed South Korea's first medal in women's wrestling at the Asian Games Monday as she picked up the silver in the freestyle 48kg division.

Kim, 22, was defeated by Japan's Chiharu Icho 0-2 in the final bout at the Aspire Hall in Doha. Mongolia's Enkhjargal Tsogtbazar won the bronze.

Japan swept three of four gold medals on offer during the women's one-day wrestling event.

In men's wrestling events that run through Thursday, South Korea has collected four out of seven gold medals decided so far.
