SEOUL, Aug. 8 (Yonhap) -- President Roh Moo-hyun will visit Pyongyang Aug. 28-30 to have a summit meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-il, informed sources said Wednesday.

Roh's office Cheong Wa Dae will make a formal announcement on the planned summit at a news conference at 10 a.m., the sources said.

"The two Koreas have agreed to hold a summit in Pyongyang Aug. 28-30. For the summit, Roh will travel to the North Korean capital for three days," said a source.

"Top-ranking South Korean officials visited North Korea twice earlier this month to fine-tune details of the summit. The agreement was finalized last Sunday," the source said.

The South Korean government will soon establish panels to prepare the agenda of the Roh-Kim talks, he added.
