SEOUL, March 3 (Yonhap) -- Olympic figure skating champion Kim Yu-na returned to Toronto, Canada, Wednesday after a brief two-day visit home to get ready for the 2010 World Figure Skating Championships in late March.

Kim aims to defend her title at the World Figure Skating Championships scheduled to take place March 22-28 in Turin, Italy.

"I'll compete in the upcoming world championships in a comfortable manner. I myself and my fans will be able to comfortably enjoy the championships," Kim told reporters, departing from Incheon International Airport, along with her mother and coach Brian Orser.

Kim, who won gold at the Vancouver Winter Olympics with a record-high score of 228.56 points, returned home Tuesday along with the South Korean Olympic squad. They attended a luncheon with President Lee Myung-bak at the presidential office earlier Wednesday.

In Toronto, Kim plans to resume her training after a brief rest.

After the world championships in Turin, she will again return home March 30 to prepare for an ice show.
