SEOUL, April 10 (Yonhap) -- South Korean President Lee Myung-bak has offered condolences to Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk over the deaths of Polish President Lech Kaczynski and other national leaders in a plane crash in Russia, Lee's office said Saturday.

Lee sent a message to the Polish prime minister, saying he was "shocked" by the plane crash and expressing his "deep condolences" to the Polish people, Lee's spokesman Park Sun-kyoo said.

The presidential plane carrying the Polish president and the nation's top military and civilian leaders crashed as it landed in a thick fog in western Russia, with all on board perishing, according to foreign news reports.
