SEOUL, July 9 (Yonhap) -- Prosecutors Friday raided and searched the Prime Minister's Office over allegations that its ethics officials had illegally conducted surveillance against a civilian critical of President Lee Myung-bak.

The raid came as prosecutors were gearing up to dig into the unfolding scandal after questioning Kim Jong-ik, a former businessman, who disclosed that a group of four ethics officials from the Prime Minister's Office had conducted illegal surveillance of him after he posted a video clip on the Internet critical of President Lee in May 2008.
