SEOUL, July 5 (Yonhap) -- CJ GLS Inc., a logistics arm of South Korea's food and entertainment giant CJ Group, said Tuesday that it has begun door-to-door delivery service in Vietnam in an effort to tap into the Southeast Asian country.

CJ GLS said that it has established a nationwide delivery system in nine regions in Vietnam, including Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, following the launch of CJ O Shopping Co.'s cable home shopping channel on July 1.

CJ GLS said that it will introduce a motorbike delivery system to deal with the country's chronic traffic jams and make Vietnamese customers pay in cash at the time of delivery because credit cards are not in wide use there.

The company said that Vietnam has a strong growth potential for online shopping malls and home delivery services, with 26 million people having access to the Internet last year.

CJ GLS is making aggressive attempts to enter overseas markets. In April, the company expanded its logistics center in Thailand, which registered US$100 million in sales last year.
