SEOUL, July 14 (Yonhap) -- South Korea on Thursday condemned a recent series of bomb blasts that killed at least 17 people in the Indian city of Mumbai, calling them crimes against civilization and humanity.

"Our government condemns the serial terrorist bombings that took place in Mumbai, India, on Wednesday, and expresses its deepest condolences to the innocent victims and their families," Seoul's Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

"Our government condemns acts of terrorism as crimes against civilization and humanity, and believes they should not be tolerated for any reason," it said.

The three bomb blasts hit India's financial capital on Wednesday night, killing at least 17 people and injuring more than 130 others, according to foreign news reports. Indian officials have yet to determine who was responsible for the attacks.
