SEOUL, May 21 (Yonhap) -- Paraguay's President Fernando Lugo will visit South Korea next week for summit talks with South Korean President Lee Myung-bak about enhancing economic cooperation and other ties between the two countries, the presidential office said Monday.

The three-day visit starting Sunday will be Lugo's second to South Korea. He visited Seoul in June 2008 as president-elect of the Latin American nation. The upcoming trip includes talks with Lee and a visit to the World Expo in the port city of Yeosu.

The summit between Lee and Lugo, set for Tuesday, is expected to center on strengthening relations between the two countries as well as bolstering substantial cooperation, such as trade, investment and development cooperation, the presidential office said.

South Korea and Paraguay forged diplomatic ties in 1962 and this year marks the 50th anniversary of the relations. Trade volume between the two countries amounted to US$205 million last year.
