Rev. Moon Sun-myung dies at 92: media reports

SEOUL, Sept. 3 (Yonhap) -- Unification Church founder the Rev. Moon Sun-myung died on Monday, according to news reports. He was 92.

The famous South Korean religious leader passed away just before 2 a.m. (Seoul time) from complications of pneumonia, the Washington Times quoted church officials as saying.

He was hospitalized with pneumonia two weeks ago. He had been treated at a church-owned hospital near his home in Gapyeong, east of Seoul.

He founded the Unification Church in Seoul in 1954. Now, the church has several million members worldwide.

It also owns several businesses including the Washington Times newspaper.
