SEOUL, April 18 (Yonhap) -- Hyundai Motor, South Korea's largest carmaker, said Thursday that it has presented its flagship Genesis sedan and Santa Fe crossover vehicle to Ryu Hyun-jin of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Hyundai said the move is part of its marketing campaign to raise its brand awareness among U.S. consumers.

"I am pleased to drive the Genesis and Santa Fe," the South Korean pitcher said in a ceremony held at Dodgers stadium in Los Angeles on Wednesday, according to Hyundai.

In 2011, Hyundai gave a Veracruz crossover vehicle to South Korean slugger Lee Dae-ho of the Lotte Giants. Currently, Lee is a first baseman for Japan's Orix Buffaloes.

Last year, Hyundai Motor handed over a bulletproof Equus limousine to U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, a former South Korean foreign minister.

Hyundai Motor also provided a bulletproof Equus limousine to South Korean pop sensation Psy during his recent trip to Brazil.
