SEOUL (Yonhap) -- The following is a chronological review of major developments related to North Korea from July 4-10, 2013.

4 The (North) Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) says Kim Yong-nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly (SPA), sent a message of greeting to Aleksandr Grigoriyevich Lukashenko, president of Belarus, on July 3 on the occasion of its national day.

4 The KCNA in a commentary denounces South Korean authorities as "the most wicked politicians" for revealing the transcript of an inter-Korean summit held in 2007.

4 The KCNA says talks between Pak Ui-chun, foreign minister of the DPRK (North Korea), and Mohamed Bolkiah, minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Brunei, were held in Bandar Seri Begawan on July 3.

4 A remembrance meeting of officials and members of the women's union takes place at the Hall of Women in Pyongyang to mark the 19th anniversary of the demise of President Kim Il-sung on July 8.

4 Working people and members of the General Federation of Trade Unions of (North) Korea (GFTUK) hold a meeting to take an oath before the statue of President Kim Il-sung in the Taean District of Nampho City to mark the 19th anniversary of his demise.

4 Premier Pak Pong-ju makes a field survey of the construction site of the Mushroom Research Institute under the State Academy of Sciences.

5 Rodong Sinmun, the organ of the Workers' Party of (North) Korea (WPK), editorially calls for ushering in a new age of development of science and technology.

5 The KCNA says the North Korean papers slam South Korean chief executive for depending on outside forces.

5 Kim Yong-nam sends a message of greeting to Nicolas Maduro Moros, president of Venezuela, on the occasion of its independence day.

5 A remembrance meeting of foreign crewmen takes place at Hungnam Port on the occasion of the 19th anniversary of the demise of President Kim Il-sung.

5 The KCNA says talks were held in Moscow on July 4 between Kim Kye-gwan, first-vice minister of Foreign Affairs, and Vladimir Titov, first-vice foreign minister of the Russian Federation.

5 The KCNA says the grand gymnastic and artistic performance "Arirang", a winner of the Kim Il-sung Prize, will be given here as part of galas to mark the 65th birthday of North Korea and the 60th anniversary of the Korean people's victory in the Fatherland Liberation War (June 25, 1950-July 27, 1953).

5 Choe Ryong-hae, director of the General Political Bureau of the Korean People's Army (KPA), makes a field survey of the reclamation of the Sepho tableland.

5 A remembrance concert is given by agricultural workers at the Samjigang Cooperative Farm in Jaeryong County, South Hwanghae Province on the occasion of the 19th anniversary of death of President Kim Il-sung.

5 The KCNA says a meeting of the chairmen of the north, south and overseas sides committees for implementation of the June 15 Joint Declaration was held in Beijing from July 4 to July 5 to mark the 41st anniversary of the historic July 4 joint statement.

5 A remembrance meeting of youth and students "Everlasting embrace of the sun" is held at the Central Youth Hall on the occasion of the 19th anniversary of death of President Kim Il-sung.

6 A North Korean delegation led by Foreign Minister Pak Ui-chun returns home after visiting Brunei Darussalam to attend the ministerial meeting of the ASEAN Regional Forum.

6 The KCNA says Kim Jong-un received a message from Gennady Zyuganov, chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, on July 4.

6 Wilfried Lemke, special adviser to the U.N. Secretary General on Sports for Development and Peace, and his companion, arrive in Pyongyang.

7 Premier Pak Pong-ju visits the Sunchon Cement Complex, the Sunchon Chemical Complex and the Sunchon Nitro-Lime Fertilizer Factory to learn about production on the spot.

7 The KCNA says working-level talks between authorities of the North and the South for the normalization of the Kaesong Industrial Complex were held at the Thongil House in the north side of Panmunjom on July 6 and 7.

7 The KCNA says a remembrance meeting was held in China on July 6 on the occasion of the 19th anniversary of the death of President Kim Il-sung.

8 North Korea marks the 19th anniversary of the death of its founder Kim Il-sung.

8 Kim Jong-un visits the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun in Pyongyang to pay tribute to Generalissimos Kim Il-sung and Kim Jong-il at 00:00 on July 8, the greatest memorial day of the nation.

8 A remembrance concert called "The Leader Will Always Be with Us" is given by the (North Korean) National Symphony Orchestra at the Moranbong Theatre, on the 19th anniversary of the death of President Kim Il-sung.

8 The KCNA says diplomatic envoys of different countries, representatives of international organizations and the military attaches corps in Pyongyang visited Kumsusan Palace of the Sun on the 19th anniversary of the death of Kim Il-sung.

8 North Korean papers dedicate editorials to the 19th anniversary of demise of President Kim Il-sung.

9 Kim Yong-nam sends a message of greeting to Salva Kiir Mayardit, president of South Sudan, on the occasion of the second anniversary of the country's independence.

9 Minju Joson, the organ of WPK, warns Japan against the development of ballistic missiles.

9 Rodong Sinmun accuses the United States of staging nuclear war drills in March and April and joint military exercises with various missions in May, pushing the situation on the Korean Peninsula to its lowest point in years.

9 Kim Yong-il, secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, talks with Haissam Saad, charge d'affaires ad interim of the Syrian embassy here, who paid a farewell call on him. The Syrian diplomat also met with Foreign Minister Pak Eui-chun.

9 Kim Kye-gwan, first vice-minister of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK, and his party return home after wrapping up their visit to Russia.

9 Egyptian Ambassador to North Korea Iman Mostafa Abdou Ahmed hosts a reception at his embassy on the occasion of the 61st anniversary of the July 23 Revolution in Egypt.

10 A new round of working-level talks between the two Koreas to normalize the Kaesong Industrial Complex ends without agreement on detailed measures to reopen the inter-Korean complex that has remained shut for more than three months.

10 Rodong Sinmun says it is necessary to create conditions and circumstances for ensuring lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula, claiming that the real criminal who disturbs the world peace is none other than the U.S.

10 Minju Joson says the DPRK-China Treaty of friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance signed on July 11, 1961 has greatly contributed to the development of friendship between the two countries, and that the (North) Korean people will always advance with Chinese people.

10 The KCNA says Kim Yong-nam on July 9 sent a message of greeting to Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj, the president of Mongolia, on the occasion of the 92nd anniversary of the victory of the people's revolution in Mongolia.

10 The KCNA says wreaths were laid before the statue and grave of Kim Hyong-jik, the father of late leader Kim Il-sung, in Pyongyang on the 119th anniversary of his birth.

10 The KCNA reports heavy rain has swept through Pyongyang and Nampho cities, South Phyongan, North Hwanghae and South Hamgyong provinces and some areas of Kangwon Province, starting the night of July 9.
