SEOUL, Sept. 30 (Yonhap) -- South Korean rapper G-Dragon will release a vinyl version of his second solo album "COUP D'ETAT" next month, his management agency said Monday.

The limited edition LPs -- 8,888 copies with serial numbers -- will hit the shelves on Oct. 18, YG Entertainment said.

Released earlier this month, the second solo album has topped iTunes album charts in various Asian countries and domestic music charts in South Korea.

"This LP will be produced in a limited number of 8,888, as eight is G-Dragon's own lucky number," YG said in a release.

G-Dragon, whose real name is Kwon Ji-yong, officially debuted as the leader and one of two rappers of the popular K-pop boy band Big Bang, which also enjoys popularity in other Asian countries.

The rapper has been involved in composition, production and lyrics for many of Big Bang's hit tracks, including "Lies," "Last Farewell" and "Haru Haru." He released his solo debut album "Heartbreaker" in 2009.
