SEOUL, May 28 (Yonhap) -- South Korean baseball club KT Wiz announced Thursday they've signed minor league infielder Dan Black.

The expansion Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) club said the switch-hitting Black has agreed to a one-year deal worth US$300,000.

The Wiz on Wednesday placed struggling pitcher Andy Sisco on waivers, which made room for an extra foreign player. As an expansion club, the Wiz can carry up to four foreign players in their first two seasons -- one more than the rest of the league -- and at least one has to be a position player. Black joins pitchers Chris Oxspring and Phil Irwin and infielder Andy Marte.

Black, 27, has been in the minors since 2009. He was playing for the Chicago White Sox's Triple-A affiliate in Charlotte, with a .324 average, six homers, 24 RBIs in 34 games.

He has mostly played first base, with a dozen games behind the plate and one game in right field in his career. The Wiz said Black is a power hitter with a good eye at the plate.

The Wiz are dead last in the 10-team KBO League at 9-39 and carried the worst team batting average in the league at .241 with the KBO-worst 19 homers into Thursday's action.
