SEOUL, Nov. 3 (Yonhap) -- The South Korean baseball club Nexen Heroes said Tuesday they will bring back their former pitcher Brandon Knight as a minor league coach.

An official with the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) club said Knight will be the pitching coordinator for the Heroes' minor league affiliate in the Futures League. He's expected to join the team in January.

In an email to Yonhap News Agency, Knight wrote, "I'm super excited and eager to get back to Korea and start working."

Knight made his KBO debut with the Samsung Lions in 2009 and joined the Heroes for the 2011 season. He won 16 games in 2012 and led the KBO with a 2.20 ERA and 208 2/3 innings pitched.

He was cut loose during the 2014 season after going 1-2 with a 5.52 ERA in six appearances. He later worked as a scout for another KBO club, the SK Wyverns.
