SEOUL, Dec. 3 (Yonhap) -- Former major league pitcher Robert Coello has joined the Nexen Heroes in South Korea.

A Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) club representative said that Coello agreed to a one-year deal for US$550,000. The right-hander has appeared in 28 games in the majors, most recently with the Los Angeles Angels in 2013, and has a major league career record of 2-3 and a 5.90 ERA. He has struck out 39 batters in 29 innings.

He has a 38-27 record in the minors with a 3.37 ERA in 218 appearances, along with 554 strikeouts in 529 innings. Coello split the 2015 season between the Triple-A affiliates of the San Francisco Giants and the Texas Rangers.

By signing Coello, the Heroes have completed their foreign contingent for next season. They've retained pitcher Ryan Feierabend and the newly acquired Danny Dorn, who can play both first base and corner outfield positions.
