SEOUL, Jan. 28 (Yonhap) -- South Korean TV series "Cheese in the Trap" has been one of the most searched foreign soap operas on Weibo, the Chinese equivalent of Twitter, the program's publicist said Thursday.

The series based on the popular webtoon in South Korea was the third and second-most searched keyword of the hour and the day, respectively, on Wednesday, Ytree Company said in a statement.

"Cheese in the Trap," premiered on Jan. 4 here, is set to be streamed on Youku and Tudou, two of China's largest video-streaming websites, this summer, but Chinese fans have already set out to look for its pirated version.

"The outfit Park wore in the show is being sold on Chinese shopping websites, and people are asking where to find the stuffed lion Park's character gave to the show's heroine, Hong Seol," the publicist added.
