SEOUL, March 11 (Yonhap) -- A vehicle crashed into the front doors of Hyundai Motor Co.'s main office building in Seoul on Friday, witnesses said.

The Santa Fe sport utility vehicle drove into the front glass doors of the headquarters building of the country's largest carmaker in Yangjae-dong, southern Seoul, around 7 a.m., according to witnesses.

The company was set to hold an annual shareholders meeting there at 9 a.m.

No one was hurt and the driver is now in police custody. Hyundai Motor officials dismissed any possible relation to the shareholder meeting, only to say that the driver works for one of its affiliates.

The man, identified by his surname Lee, reportedly told the police that he mistook the accelerator pedal for the brake, taking back his earlier claim of an unintended sudden move forward.

Sources said that he came up to Seoul to complain about being unfairly treated after having an argument with a plant manager about his work attitude the previous day.
