TWICE, Park Jin-young to release new albums

All Headlines 11:54 April 06, 2016

SEOUL, April 6 (Yonhap) -- South Korean girl group TWICE of JYP Entertainment and its boss Park Jin-young have fixed separate dates for their April returns, the agency said Wednesday.

Park, the singer-turned-chief executive of JYP, one of the country's big-three entertainment agencies, will return to the K-pop scene on Sunday.

The award-winning musician's new EP and its title track, both named "Still Alive," have drawn the eyes of K-pop fans since the agency released a 40-second teaser clip of its official music video on YouTube on Tuesday.

The title of the track and its music video include a hilarious parody of the 2012 South Korean hit gangster movie "Nameless Gangster: Rules of Time," starring Choi Min-sik and Ha Jung-woo. "Still alive," the film's most famous line by Ha's gangster chief, instantly topped the list of buzzwords of that year.

The song "Still Alive" is a combination of a refreshing rhythm and cheerful melody, intended to comfortably suit the tastes of music lovers of all ages, JYP Entertainment said in a press release.

Park composed and wrote "Still Alive," a testament to the 22-year veteran's passion for singing and producing while leading a listed talent agency. Humor and jollity have been the trademark features of Park's songs, as seen in "Who's Your Mama?"

His company will also send out TWICE, one of its top groups, on April 25. The girl group's second and latest mini album comes six months after its debut EP "The Story Begins," released in October 2015. JYP has not yet disclosed the title of the new album.

TWICE started out the song promotion with a teaser image, which shows the nine-member act -- Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung and Tzuyu -- in cheerleading uniforms at a football stadium.

The new song will show the best of TWICE's trademark cheerful vibe, set to bring the group closer to its fans, JYP said in a press statement.
