SEOUL, April 10 (Yonhap) -- Advertisement deals secured by South Korea's top 10 ad companies grew about 5 percent on-year in 2015, industry data showed Sunday, pointing to some signs of a rebound from their years-long business slump.

According to the data by the Korea Federation of Advertising Associations, the country's top 10 ad companies secured a combined 12.23 trillion won (US$10.6 billion) worth of advertisement deals last year, up from the previous year's 11.64 trillion won.

This marked the first uptick since the amount shrank 0.1 percent in 2013 following double-digit growth in the preceding few years.

Cheil Worldwide came first with 5.07 trillion won worth of deals secured, followed by Innocean Worldwide with 3.68 trillion won, the data showed.

The top 10 companies accounted for 83.8 percent of the total deals of 53 ad companies surveyed. The ratio was down 1.2 percentage points from a year earlier. Of the total, 58 percent came from overseas contracts.
