'We Got Married' creates buzz, 'Descendants of the Sun' remains No. 1

SEOUL, April 12 (Yonhap) -- Reality show "We Got Married" has finished in the top 10 shows that created the most buzz in the final week of March, data showed Tuesday.

The MBC show in which celebrities act as newlyweds garnered 215.8 points in CPI, an index developed by the entertainment giant CJ E&M and media research company Nielsen Korea. It climbed 15 notches to finish in eighth place for the week of March 28-April 3.

Actress Kim So-yeon and actor Kwak Si-yang form a couple, with Joy of the girl group Red Velvet and Sungjae of the boy band BTOB another.

CPI is a comprehensive measure of a show's popularity, taking into account its viewership, search frequency and number of mentions on social media.

The inter-occupational romance drama "Descendants of the Sun" stayed No. 1 with 323.1 points, leading the second-place "Produce 101," an Mnet girl group competition show, by 70.8 points.

Three new shows debuted in the top 10 in the fifth week of March. SBS's "The Royal Gambler," ranked third, with "Monster" on MBC in sixth place. KBS 2TV's "My Lawyer, Mr. Jo" finished ninth.
