SEOUL, April 13 (Yonhap) -- A female visitor from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was diagnosed with possible symptoms of the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) in Seoul, medical sources said Wednesday, with the police tracking her whereabouts.

The UAE national, who arrived in South Korea on Friday, visited Kangbuk Samsung Hospital in the nation's capital at 2:00 a.m. after suffering from a severe fever. The anonymous female, accompanied by two others, left the hospital before the results came out.

The female has not yet been confirmed with MERS. The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said it plans to send the patient to the National Medical Center for treatment.

It marked the 77th suspected MERS case this year in South Korea. The previous 76 cases were found to be negative.
