S. Korea to sell 7.7 tln won worth of state bonds in May

SEOUL, April 28 (Yonhap) -- The South Korean government plans to sell 7.7 trillion won (US$6.76 billion) worth of Treasury bills next month, the finance ministry said Thursday.

The new government Treasurys will be sold in five separate biddings, according to the Ministry of Strategy and Finance.

The government will issue 1.9 trillion won worth of bonds with a maturity of three years and 800 billion won worth of five-year bonds.

It also plans to sell 2 trillion won worth of 10-year bonds and 2.05 trillion won with a maturity of between 20 and 30 years.

The ministry said it sold 8.98 trillion won worth of state debt in April.
