All News 23:16 June 03, 2016

SEOUL, June 3 (Yonhap) -- Police said Friday they have raided the headquarters of South Korea's national wrestling organization over suspicions some billions of won was embezzled.

The Eunpyeong Police Station said they confiscated accounting books, documents and computer hard discs from the Korea Wrestling Federation (KWF) in eastern Seoul earlier in the day.

Police said they launched the investigation after receiving a tip that some 3 billion won (US$2.5 million) was missing from last year's budget.

The raid came about two months after state prosecutors indicted 10 former and current board members of the country's swimming federation on a string of corruption charges, including peddling influence when selecting national team members.
