Rangers' Choo Shin-soo homers in 1st game back from injury

All News 13:16 June 14, 2016

SEOUL, June 14 (Yonhap) -- Choo Shin-soo of the Texas Rangers has homered in his first game back from a leg injury.

Choo launched a solo shot against the Oakland Athletics starter Sean Manaea in the top of the fifth in Oakland on Monday (local time). It was Choo's first home run of the year, and cut the Rangers' deficit to 10-2.

Choo was activated from the 15-day disabled list (DL) earlier in the day, having dealt with a strained left hamstring since May 23. He batted a lead off and played in right field.

This was only Choo's seventh game of the season. Earlier in the year, he missed time with a strained right calf muscle, and played just one game before going back on the DL with the hamstring ailment.

He entered the game batting .188 with an RBI, six walks and one steal.
