SEOUL, July 14 (Yonhap) -- South Korea cracked the top 50 in the latest FIFA rankings announced Thursday.

South Korea moved up two spots to reach No. 48 in the July rankings, the first time the country moved inside the top 50 since July 2013, when they reached No. 43.

The climb was aided by a 2-1 friendly victory over the then-No. 30 Czech Republic last month.

South Korea remained the second-highest-ranked member of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) behind No. 38 Iran.

There were no changes to the top five. Argentina remained at No. 1, followed by Belgium, Colombia, Germany and Chile.
