N. Korean Olympics delegation leaves for Rio

SEOUL, July 26 (Yonhap) -- North Korea's delegation to the Rio de Janeiro Summer Olympics left for Brazil early Tuesday, its state-run media outlet reported.

Earlier, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said the communist state's athletes will compete in nine events, including archery, marathon and wrestling, at the Summer Games. The Rio Olympics, the first in South America, will go on from Aug. 5 to 21.

Meanwhile, the first contingent of the South Korean delegation to the Summer Olympics will leave for Brazil early Wednesday.

South Korea has set out to grab at least 10 gold medals to finish in the top 10 in the fourth consecutive Summer Games.
