INCHEON, Aug. 26 (Yonhap) -- The construction of a new yacht marina in the western port city of Incheon will be completed next week, officials said Friday.

According to the Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ), the Wangsan Sailing Marina, located near Incheon International Airport, will be able to dock a total of 300 yachts when it is completed next Monday.

The Incheon Metropolitan City Government and the country's largest flag carrier Korean Air Lines Co. started the 155.4 billion won (US$139.3 million) construction project in 2012.

"The opening of the yacht marina is expected to meet tourism demand from home and abroad," said an IFEZ official.

The marina was previously used as a venue for sailing and yacht matches during the 2014 Asian Games.

Wangsan Leisure Development Co., a subsidiary of Korean Air, will inject an additional 200 billion won to construct a clubhouse, hotel and other facilities near by the marina.
