SEOUL, Aug. 29 (Yonhap) -- South Korean attacker Ryu Seung-woo is in talks with a Hungarian club over getting loaned from Bundesliga oufit Bayer Leverkusen, his Seoul-based agency said Monday.

An official from Ryu's local agency said the 22-year-old midfielder is seeking to play for Ferencvaros, the defending Hungarian champions, this season on loan from Leverkusen. The agency added that the two sides are currently talking details in the player's contract and are waiting for medical tests. The summer transfer window closes at the end of this month.

Ryu, who made his pro debut with South Korean club Jeju United in 2013, joined Leverkusen the following year, but has yet to find his spot with the club. He was loaned to Eintracht Braunschweig for the 2014-15 season and Arminia Bielefeld the following season -- both of them second-tier clubs -- before returning to Leverkusen.

Ryu was part of the South Korean team that reached quarterfinals at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics. He scored a hat trick in the 8-0 win over Fiji in the group stage, becoming the first South Korean player to net three goals in an Olympic match.
