SEOUL, Sept. 1 (Yonhap) -- Lee Dae-ho's three-hit game couldn't stop the Seattle Mariners from losing their fifth straight game.

The South Korean rookie went 3-for-4 against the Texas Rangers on the road at Globe Life Park in Arlington, but the M's still suffered a 14-1 loss.

It was Lee's third three-hit game of the season and raised his batting average from .245 to .253.

Lee was playing in his fourth game back from a brief stint in the minors. He had gone 0-for-4 in the first two games but is now 5-for-9 in the past two.

The Rangers, though, were too much for the Mariners, as they launched five home runs for their fifth straight victory.

The Mariners, on the other hand, went 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position.

At 68-65, the Mariners are now 11.5 games behind the division-leading Rangers in the American League West and 4.5 games out of the second wild-card spot, held by the Baltimore Orioles.
