PM to head to Thailand for pan-Asian meeting
SEOUL, Oct. 4 (Yonhap) -- Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn is set to visit Thailand later this month to participate in a pan-Asian conference aiming to share ideas on sustainable development with other counterparts.
Hwang began a three-day visit to the Asian country on Sunday to participate in the gathering of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD), a 34-member body created in 2002 to promote Asian exchanges at a continental level, the prime minister's office said.
It said the premier will introduce South Korea's efforts to roll out sustainable development for the globe, as well as the country's vision of the science and technology fields.
Hwang will also meet his Thai counterpart and exchange ideas in coping with North Korea's nuclear development, as well as expand cooperation in various sectors like defense and education.
The prime minister, moreover, plans to visit local schools teaching the Korean language and hold a meeting with South Korean residents in the country, his office said.
