SEOUL, Oct. 8 (Yonhap) -- The United States ambassador to the United Nations on Saturday urged North Korea to stop any further nuclear provocations, adding that the world will "not be intimidated" by any actions taken by the Kim Jong-un regime.

Samantha Power made the remarks to reporters right after arriving in South Korea. She is to meet with key South Korean policymakers and share views on the ongoing negotiations for a fresh U.N. Security Council resolution aimed at punishing the North for carrying out a nuclear test early last month.

"Now we are looking to see what more can be done because, of course, another test was carried out at the beginning of September," she said. "This must stop. We are not intimidated by the action of the government of North Korea."
