SEOUL, Jan. 1 (Yonhap) -- South Korea on Sunday condemned a gun attack on a night club in Istanbul, reiterating that acts of terrorism cannot be justified under any circumstances.

At least 39 people were killed and 69 were wounded in the mass shooting during New Year's Eve celebrations at a night club in the Turkish capital, according to foreign media.

"Our government would like to extend our condolences to the Turkish government, the innocent victims and their families," Seoul's foreign ministry said in a press release.

The ministry said it supports Turkey's efforts to root out terrorism while reinforcing its commitment to working together with the global community for the same cause.

The ministry, meanwhile, said there has been no reports of any Korean victims from the attack so far.
