SEOUL, Jan. 3 (Yonhap) -- South Korean football club Suwon Samsung Bluewings said Tuesday they are set to sign defender Matthew Jurman from the Australian side Sydney FC.

Suwon, four-time champions of the K League Classic, said that the 27-year-old center back will sign a contract after a medical test Thursday. Suwon have yet to disclose the details of his contract, but Australian media are saying Jurman will ink a two-year deal.

Jurman made his pro debut in 2007 and played with Sydney FC and Brisbane Roar in the Australian A-League. He has yet to play for the Australian senior squad but has represented his country at the under-20 and under-23 levels.

Jurman, who can also play as left back, made 27 appearances for Sydney FC last season.

Suwon finished seventh in the domestic league last year but earned a spot in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League after winning the Korea Football Association Cup.
