SEOUL, Jan. 9 (Yonhap) -- South Korea said Monday it will launch a nationwide shopping campaign next week to provide discounts to foreign tourists one year ahead of the opening of the PyeongChang Winter Olympics in February 2018.

Focus will be put on offering discounts at ski resorts and other winter sporting events during the weeklong Korea Grand Sale from Feb. 20-28, the Visit Korea Committee said.

"We are planning to let foreigners know the attractive winter images of South Korea as well as the Korea Grand Sale so more foreigners could have an interest in the (PyeongChang) Olympics and visit Korea," said Han Kyung-ah, secretary general of the committee.
