Chaekyung joins girl group April, raises anticipation

SEOUL, Jan. 10 (Yonhap) -- Chaekyung, who rose to fame on the Mnet audition show "Produce 101," has recently joined the K-pop girl group April.

This marks her fourth official debut as a girl group member.

The singer had previously debuted in Japan, but the idol act got disbanded later on. She had also been a member of both I.B.I and C.I.V.A, respectively, which were temporary projects.

April, which debuted as the youngest rookie of the year back in 2015, dropped its third EP "Prelude" last Wednesday, its first material released after a major member shift.

This clip, uploaded on Yonhap News Agency's entertainment YouTube channel Tong Tong TV last Friday, looks into more about the group and its new member Chaekyung as well as her significance to the group's future and music.
