Seohyun unveils second teaser for first solo project
SEOUL, Jan. 16 (Yonhap) -- South Korean singer Seohyun has unveiled the second teaser for her new single "Don't Say No," the lead number of her forthcoming solo album of the same name, which is set to drop at midnight Tuesday.
The follow-up to "Remember - S.E.S. 20th Anniversary Special Album" as a continuation of the New Year special projects hailing from S.M. Entertainment has turned out to be Girls' Generation's youngest member's first foray into a solo project since her debut in 2007.
"Don't Say No" is a clubby dance number built on funky sounds of piano, which incorporates elements of R&B.
The clip features snippets from the song's accompanying video, emphasizing a provocative side of Seohyun you might not know much about. She bears little resemblance to the well-behaved girl we've known for the past decade, who served backing vocals and a good-girl disposition to both the band and its subgroup TaeTiSeo. It's as if she suggests there is no chance now for us to find the same Seohyun in her solo efforts.
Asked to say something funny or walk people through her private lives, the 25 year-old girl might still take a few steps back, but when it comes to delivering bars all by herself, she doesn't falter.
She exactly knows that modern-day listeners are quickly becoming pickier, therefore, being a member of one of the most successful marketing engines of the 2000s and 2010s per se doesn't promise her a free pass.
Now it's time for her to show what she's got.
Meanwhile, the official release of the album "Don't Say No" is set for Wednesday.
