Acting president to hold public debate on regulatory reform next month
SEOUL, Jan. 19 (Yonhap) -- Acting President and Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn will hold a public debate on regulatory reform next month, his office said Thursday, as part of its effort to remove unnecessary rules that have hampered the country's efforts to revitalize the economy.
The 100-minute debate will be held on Feb. 22 at the Korea Broadcasters Center in Seoul.
It will be attended by some 100 participants, including regulatory officials and citizens.
The acting president and senior government officials will take questions from the participants, organizers said.
On Thursday, the government started to receive policy recommendations related to regulatory reform. It plans to gather recommendations until Feb. 21 and try to address them.
