Ssangyong sets record sales target this year with robust Tivoli SUV
SEOUL, Jan. 20 (Yonhap) -- Ssangyong Motor Co. said Friday it has set a record sales target of 161,000 vehicles at home and abroad this year with the growing popularity of its small Tivoli SUVs.
The South Korean unit of Indian carmaker Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. rolled out 155,621 vehicles last year, up 6.3 percent from the previous year.
Its record sales of 161,016 were achieved in 2002.
Sales of the Tivoli rose 34.7 percent to 85,821 last year from a year earlier.
The trendy SUV has remained the No. 1 selling car in its segment since its launch in January 2015. The new Tivoli Air hit the market in March last year.
