SEOUL, March 26 (Yonhap) -- Third-year franchise KT Wiz won the South Korean baseball's preseason for the first time on Sunday.

The Wiz ended the exhibition campaign in the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) with seven wins, three losses and one tie.

Their game against the Lotte Giants at Busan's Sajik Stadium was rained out. But the NC Dinos, which entered the day in first place, lost to the Kia Tigers 5-4 Sunday to fall to second place.

The Wiz, which joined the KBO in 2015, have finished last in their first two regular seasons. The 2017 regular season will start Friday.

In the past 26 preseasons, only five winners have also gone on to win the Korean Series title later in the year, the last being the 2007 SK Wyverns.

The Samsung Lions finished with the worst record at 2-9-1 (wins-losses-ties). They lost to the Nexen Heroes 8-6 Sunday.

Foreign pitchers shined on the final day of the preseason. Former major league right-hander Alexi Ogando tossed three perfect innings for the Hanwha Eagles as they beat the Wyverns 5-4.

For the Tigers, Pat Dean twirled five shutout innings against the Dinos, giving up just three hits while striking out seven and walking none.
