SEOUL, June 1 (Yonhap) -- Three foreign carmakers and one two-wheeler importer have been ordered to recall more than 2,000 vehicles in South Korea for faulty parts, the transport ministry said Thursday.

This is the latest in a series of recall orders issued by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport against both domestic and foreign carmakers.

The companies plan to recall 15 different models totaling 2,014 units. These include Mercedes-Benz's E 200 and C 300 sedans, BMW's X5 xDrive30d SUV, Porsche's Macan gasoline sedan and the Italy-made Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro imported and sold by local two-wheeler trading company Moto Rossa, the ministry said in a statement.

The problems range from faulty air bag inflators to corrosive propeller shafts and faulty fuel filter covers, it said.

Starting Friday, the owners of the vehicles can visit designated repair and service centers to replace the parts free of charge, it said.
