SEOUL, June 10 (Yonhap) -- Economists from Asian economies will gather next week in Seoul to discuss measures to tackle global protectionism trends and recent developments in regional cooperation, organizers for the forum said Saturday.

The two-day "International Conference on Regional Integration and Economic Resilience" event also aims to assess how China's slowing economy and this development will affect other Asian nations.

The gathering, beginning next Tuesday, is jointly organized by the Asian Development Bank, Korea International Economic Association, the U.N. Economic and Social Commission for Asia, and the Pacific East and North-East Asia Office.

Yasuyuki Sawada, chief economist at the Asian Development Bank, will make a keynote speech during the event, according to the organizers.
