SEOUL, June 15 (Yonhap) -- President Moon Jae-in on Thursday hinted at his ready-made decision to appoint his nominee for new foreign minister, regardless of approval by opposition parties.
Moon asked the parliament to try and issue a report on its confirmation hearing for Foreign Minister nominee Kang Kyung-wha but noted the decision to appoint her was ultimately up to the people.
"I will follow the people's command. I ask the opposition parties to also respect what the people wish," Moon said in a weekly meeting with his top secretaries.
