SEOUL, June 23 (Yonhap) -- LG Electronics Inc. said Friday it opened a library equipped with computers and other electronics at a vocational school in Vietnam, adding it will lend support to more institutions down the road.

The South Korean tech giant said the new library at Haiphong Industrial Vocational College comes in line with its effort to foster regional experts.

The company currently manufactures TVs, handsets, washers, air conditioners and other electronics in the northern port city of Haiphong.

LG said it will carry out similar projects at Viettronics Technology College, Haiphong Polytechnic College and VMU Vocational College located in the Vietnamese city.

The company also plans to provide scholarships, along with career opportunities at LG, to talented students at the institutions.
