BANGKOK, July 11 (Yonhap) -- The Thai government has approved a 8.8 billion baht (US$257 million) plan to purchase eight more South Korea-made T-50 trainer jets, its prime minister said Tuesday.
After a Cabinet meeting to endorse the plan, Prayut Chan-o-cha said that Bangkok would purchase the jets in addition to the four T-50s it agreed to buy under a separate deal signed in 2015.
Korea Aerospace Industries, the country's sole aircraft maker, developed the T-50 with technological assistance from the U.S. defense firm Lockheed Martin.
