LG Electronics provides free medical services in Myanmar

SEOUL, Oct. 23 (Yonhap) -- LG Electronics Inc. said Monday it provided free medical checkups in Myanmar in line with its efforts to strengthen its corporate social responsibility.

LG said it opened a free clinic in Pathein, located in the southern part of the country, over the weekend, providing medical services to 5,000 residents.

The company also offered education programs on disease prevention and hygiene to the residents.

LG has been operating free clinics throughout Southeast Asian countries since April, providing services to 28,000 people. The company said the number of recipients will reach 40,000 by the end of this year.
