SEOUL, Nov. 20 (Yonhap) -- Carver Korea said Monday its signature brand AHC was the most sold South Korean cosmetics brand at China's largest online shopping mall during its recent shopping festival.

The company said sales of AHC at Tmall during the Singles' Day on Nov. 11 rose 140 percent on-year, without disclosing the actual number. The total sales, including other Chinese online shopping platforms on the day, jumped 240 percent, it said.

The country's third-largest cosmetics firm was purchased by Anglo-Dutch consumer goods company Unilever earlier this year, amid growing popularity of Korean cosmetics products in the Asian beauty market.

The US$2.7 billion agreement to buy Carver Korea marked the largest merger and acquisition deal ever for a local cosmetics manufacturer.

Founded in 1999, Carver Korea's AHC is known for its skin care products for age management, hydration and nourishment.
