SEOUL, Dec. 1 (Yonhap) -- GM Korea Co., the South Korean unit of General Motors Co., said Friday its November sales fell 20 percent from a year earlier due to weaker domestic demand.

GM Korea sold 42,543 vehicles in November, down from 53,042 units a year earlier, the company said in a statement.

Exports declined 10 percent to 32,194 units from 35,806 over the cited period. Domestic sales plunged 40 percent to 10,349 from 17,236 during the same period, it said.

The sales slump was mainly affected by weaker domestic demand for the midsize Malibu, flagship Impala and the large Alpheon sedans last month, the statement said.

In the January-November period, GM Korea saw its combined sales slump 12 percent on-year to 479,058 autos from 542,884, it said.
