Police raid Seoul tax office in probe over Samsung's alleged secret bank accounts
SEOUL, Dec. 8 (Yonhap) -- Police said Friday they raided the Seoul headquarters of the National Tax Service (NTS) as part of a probe into allegations that the tax agency has a record of the Samsung Group's secret bank accounts that were created under borrowed names.
The special investigation unit of the National Police Agency said they sent investigators to obtain related evidence.
The raid comes after a Samsung official told the police that he reported to the NTS' Seoul unit in 2011 about the bogus bank accounts, and the search is to verify the official's testimony, the police said.
