SEJONG, Dec. 12 (Yonhap) -- South Korea plans to compile employment data for each industry and region to better reflect the country's job situations and better deal with the job market through a variety of policy tools, the statistics office said Tuesday.

The Statistics Korea said it will devise data regarding each sector's employment in every quarter and its trends, starting during the second half of next year.

The government also plans to gather job-related statistics for each region, with an eye on drawing up a specific scheme by 2019 to compile job data at major regions and workplaces, according to the office.

"Such data will also be used in connection with statistics, such as household income, to provide a more detailed analysis," said an official at the Statistics Korea.
