SEOUL, Dec. 26 (Yonhap) -- South Korean football club Pohang Steelers announced Tuesday they've acquired Australian midfielder Oliver Bozanic.

The K League Classic club said Bozanic will join the squad after undergoing his physical on Jan. 3. Pohang didn't disclose details of his contract.

Bozanic made his pro debut with Australian outfit Central Coast Mariners in 2006. He later had stints in England and Switzerland. The 28-year-old last year played with Japanese club Ventforet Kofu.

Bozanic has seven caps with the Australian national team and played two matches at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Pohang said Bozanic is a versatile player who can execute both attacking and defensive roles in the midfield.

Bozanic is Pohang's second foreign player signing this winter after Brazilian defender Rafael Berger, who is commonly known as Alemao.

Pohang, five-time league champions, finished seventh in the 2017 season.
